Graphic Requirements
Get off to a great start...
At BlueDarter we are committed to providing the highest level of customer service and professional design. For clients with no collateral or design services we are happy to assist in consulting, design, and production of creative identity material. Please understand that your printed collateral has different requirements than those of your website. However, most file types are transferable, and you will get the best results if you follow the following guidelines.
Software Program files:
BlueDarter operates a fully equipped PC-based studio. When submitting artwork, please ensure it is supplied in a native version (Macintosh or PC) of one of the following programs:
- Adobe Illustrator (.ai or .eps, version 8 or below)
- Macromedia Fireworks (.png, version 5 or below)
- Adobe Photoshop (.psd, version 7 or below)
These programs offer the greatest flexibility, versatility and allow us, when necessary, to amend, adjust or correct your files. Files sent as other software types may not be useable and/or require rebuilding and are subject to additional charges.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Include hexideximal color if color matching is required.
- For best results logos should be in a Vector format (.ai, .eps, .png)
- Files must be in RGB
- Convert fonts to outlines or include fonts in .ttf format.
- Please leave layers intact, do not flatten if possible.
Raster (bitmap) file types and uses:
- .tif (RGB, highest quality for all flattened artwork)
- .jpg (non-compressed, high quality, best for photos)
- .gif (non-dithered, high quality, best for line art)
PLEASE NOTE:
- Have images professionally scanned
- Scan at least a 75 dpi, for detailed images scan at 150 dpi.
- Check your image for flaws, do not send highly optimized images with artifacts.
Hardcopy art/photos for scanning:
- Must be camera ready prints, line art, or photos.
Will not accept:
- line art on top of texured background
business cards
- faxed art
- film , slides, or transparencies
Accepted Media for file transfer:
- 3.5 floppy diskettes
- CD ROMs (must be formatted for PC)
- 100 MB Zip disks
- .zip (e-mail or ftp)
